Trading activities on the Nigerian Bourse ended for today (Tuesday) on a positive note, to halt the two consecutive trading losses, as NGX-ASI advanced by 0.08%. The positive performance was driven by investors’ buy-interests in industrial goods (+0.13%), banking (+0.12%), and consumer goods (0.08%). However, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 17 gainers as against 18 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) grew by 25.99 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.07%, to close at 39,460.68 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value gained 13.54 billion, representing a growth of 0.07% to close at N20.56 trillion.

MORISON emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a maximum price appreciation of +10.00%, while FTNCOCOA emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) with a maximum price depreciation of -9.09%.

FOREIGN EXCHANGE 24082021The I&E FX window traded high and low at N413.00 and N400.00 respectively on (24/08/2021) and eventually closed at N411.00, appreciating against Monday’s position. Also, at the BDC, the naira closed at N519, depreciating by N2.00, representing a 0.39% change against Monday’s position.

FOREIGN RESERVE 24082021

Nigeria’s foreign reserve declined further by $66.67 million to $33.43 billion on (23/08/2021) from $33.50 billion on (20/08/2021).

CRUDE OIL 24082021

The Brent crude and WTI crude appreciated by $2.30 and $1.90 to $71.05 and $67.54 on (24/08/2021) from $68.75 and $65.64 on (23/08/2021), representing a rise of 3.35% and 2.89% respectively. Also, the Bonny Light appreciated by $1.80 to $69.05 on (24/08/2021) from $67.25 (23/08/2021), representing a 2.68% increase in price.
