WAPCO, DANGCEM & 13 others led local bourse to sustain seesaw movement, gains 1.46%
Transactions on the Nigeria bourse today (Monday) began the trading week on a positive note, gaining 1.46%, sustaining a seesaw movement of four consecutive days of alternating losses and gains, following value appreciation on some bellwether stocks like WAPCO, DANGCEM, ACCESS and 12 others. However, the market breadth closed on a negative note, recording 19 losers as against 15 gainers.
NSE Trading Floor
In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 355.88 absolute points, representing a growth of 1.46% to close at 24,783.61 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N185.65 billion, representing an increase of 1.46% to close at N12.93 trillion
UNITYBNK emerged as the top gainer while UAC-PROP & MANSARD emerged as the top losers.
The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; WAPCO (+9.59%), GUARANTY (+7.62%), DANGCEM (+5.66%), ZENITHBANK (+2.58%), UBA (+2.50%), ACCESS (+1.61%), ETI (+1.18%) and FBNH (+1.01%).

The Naira at the official window on Monday closed at 381.00/$1, unchanged against the previous day’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N388.10, traded high at N390.00, and eventually closed at N389.25, representing a 0.06% appreciation against the previous day’s closing position. A total of $38.86 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
MONEY MARKET
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 1.88%, representing a 0.33% depreciation against the previous day’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 1.13%, representing a 0.48% depreciation against the previous day’s position.

NASD OTC MARKET
The NASD OTC market today (Monday) closed on a negative note as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 702.71, representing a 0.54% depreciation against the previous day’s closing position. Similarly, Market Capitalization shed N2.20 billion, to close at N516.19 billion, representing a 0.54% depreciation against the previous day’s closing position. However, the aggregate volume and value increased by 3,882.23% and 3,399.54% respectively, as investors traded a total of 1,127,568 shares, worth N33.62 million in 18 deal.
