Value depreciation in MTNN, others drag local bourse lower, sheds 0.13%
The Nigerian equity market today (Friday), closed on a negative note, with a dip of 0.13%, reversing previous positive sentiment, following a seesaw movement of alternating losses and gain of three consecutive trading days. The downturn was buoyed by value depreciation in MTNN, DANGCEM & 12 others. However, the market breadth closed positively, recording 15 gainers as against 13 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 26.58 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.13% to close at 21,094.62 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N13.85 billion, representing an increase of 0.13% to close at N11.00 trillion.
ACCESS & COURTVILLE emerged as the top gainers while SKYAVN emerged as the top loser.
The downturn was impacted by loses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; WAPCO (-2.72%), DANGCEM (-2.65%), NB (-2.22%), MTNN (-0.86%) and FIDELITYBK (-0.59%).

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N388.40, traded high at N401.45 and eventually closed at N383.00, unchanged against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $74.51 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 2.60%, representing a 0.48% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 2.20%, representing 0.47% depreciation against yesterday’s position.
