Value appreciation in MTNN and 27 others pushed NSE-ASI higher, gains 2.32%
The Nigerian equities market today (Tuesday), closed positively, with a 2.32% gain, extending previous positive sentiment to four consecutive trading day, following value appreciation on MTNN, ACCESS, ZENITHBANK, UBA and 24 others. Consequently, the market breadth closed positively, recording 28 gainers as against 12 losers.
NSE Trading Floor
In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 495.92 absolute points, representing a growth of 2.32% to close at 21,879.95 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N258.45 billion, representing an increase of 2.32% to close at N11.40 trillion.
OANDO emerged as the top gainer while PZ emerged as the top loser.
The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; OANDO (+10.00%), NB (+9.91%), DANGSUGAR (+9.35%), HONYFLOUR (+8.89%), GUARANTY (+8.49%), ACCESS (+4.51%), ETI (+4.30%), ZENITHBANK (+3.57%), FBNH (+3.19%), MTNN (3.16%) and UBA (+1.61%).

The Naira at the official window on Tuesday closed unchanged at 361.00/$1, against previous day’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N387.60, traded high at N401.57 and eventually closed at N370.00, representing a 0.47% depreciation against Thursday’s closing position. A total of $146.91 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
MONEY MARKET
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 2.83%, representing a 14.00% depreciation against Thursday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 2.33%, representing 12.67% depreciation against Thursday’s position.
