Transactions on the Nigerian equities market today (Wednesday) closed higher by 0.66%, halting downtrend of two consecutive trading sessions, following value appreciation on ACCESS, ZENITHBANK, WAPCO and 16 others. Consequently, the market breadth closed positively, recording 19 gainers as against 4 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 150.38 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.66% to close at 22,780.30 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N78.37 billion, representing a growth of 0.66% to close at N11.87 trillion.

Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 2.10%, representing a 0.53% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 1.80%, representing a 0.20% depreciation against yesterday’s position.

The NASD OTC market on Wednesday closed lower as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 700.73, representing a 0.18% depreciation against previous day’s closing position. However, the aggregate volume decreased by 82.77% while the aggregated value increased by 101.32%, as investors traded a total of 23,922 volumes of shares, valued at N3.79 million in 4 deal.
