The Nigerian equity market closed trading activities for today (Thursday) on a negative note, extending the bearish sentiment to two consecutive trading sessions, as NGX-ASI declined by 0.08%. The bearish performance was driven by investors’ sell-off sentiments in all the sectors except the insurance sector. Similarly, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 25 losers as against 13 gainers

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) declined by 31.62 absolute points, representing a decrease of 0.08%, to close at 41,943.83 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value dropped by N16.51 billion, representing a decrease of 0.09% to close at N21.89 trillion. 

SCOA emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) with a price appreciation of +9.47%, while PHARMDEKO emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) for today, with a price depreciation of -10.00%.

Crude oil 28102021The WTI crude depreciated by $1.99 to $82.66 on Wednesday (28/10/2021) from $84.65 on Tuesday (27/10/2021), representing a decrease of 2.35%, and the Brent Crude depreciated by $0.21 to $83.66 on Wednesday (28/10/2021) from $83.87 on Tuesday (27/10/2021), representing a decrease of 0.25%. Also,  the Bonny Light depreciated by $1.16 to $83.05 on Wednesday (28/10/2021) from $84.21 on Tuesday (27/10/2021) representing a decrease of 1.38%
