TOTAL, MTNN, and Others Lift NGX-ASI to a Marginal Gain of 0.04%

The Nigerian Local market closed transaction for today (Wednesday) with a slight gain, to halt Four days of consecutive trading losses in the domestic market. The positive performance was due to investors’ bargain hunting in some large and medium scale stocks. Hence, the ASI and Market Capitalization grew by +0.04%. Furthermore, the market breadth closed positively, recording 18 gainers as against 11 losers.

In summary. the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 15.31 absolute points, representing a rise of 0.04%, to closed at 37,872.55 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value gained N7.98 billion, representing a surge of 0.04% to close at N19.73 trillion.

CAPHOTEL emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a maximum price appreciation of +10.00 while LINKASSURE emerged as a  top loser (by percentage points) with a maximum price depreciation of -5.41%.

Today’s market performance upturn was driven by price appreciation in large and medium capitalized stocks amongst which are; NCR(+9.89%), TOTAL(+6.06%), FTNCOCOA(+5.13%), UPDC(+3.62%), JAIZBANK(+3.51%), LASACO(+2.50%), PZ(+1.75%), MANSARD(+1.15%), UACN(+1.01%), FIDELITYBK(+0.86%), FBNH(+0.69%), MTNN(+0.61%), and UCAP(-0.32%),

The I&E FX window opened at N411.21, traded high at N412.59, traded low at N400.00, and eventually closed at N411.22, appreciating by 0.13% against Tuesday’s closing position. However, at the BDC, the naira remains unchanged at N500.00.

Nigeria’s foreign reserve strengthened by $8.39 million to $33.10 billion on (13/07/2021) from $33.09 billion on (12/07/2021).

The Brent crude grew by $1.33 to $76.49 on (13/07/2021) from $75.16 (12/07/2021), representing a 1.77% increase in price.
