Sustained Buy-Interest, Returns Year-To-Date Performance Positive

The Nigerian equity market ended trading activities for the second day of the week (Tuesday) on a positive note, to extend the bullish sentiment to four consecutive trading sessions. The positive performance was as a result of bargain hunters increased buying interest in the Banking and Oil/Gas Sectors, as NGX-ASI increased by 1.18% and ASI-YTD printed at 1.11%. Furthermore, the market breadth closed positively, recording 32 gainers as against 18 losers

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 473.61 absolute points, representing an increase of 1.18%, to close at 40,716.66 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value grew by N246.79 billion, representing a gain of 1.18% to close at N21.22 trillion.

FBNH emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) with a price appreciation of +9.76%, while UPL emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) for today, with a price depreciation of -9.63%.
