Stock market sustains downtrend with 0.62% loss
The Nigerian bourse on Thursday extends losing streak to five consecutive trading sessions, as sell pressure persists. Consequently, the market breadth closed negative, recording 13 gainers against 20 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 166.14 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.62% to close at 26,808.24 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N86.55 billion, representing a dip of 0.62% to close at N13.97 trillion.
JAIZBANK emerged as the top gainer while FLOURMILL emerged as top loser.
The downtrend was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; FLOURMILL (-8.70%), FBNH (-5.56%), HONYFLOUR (-4.76%), ETI (-4.00%), ACCESS (-2.78%), GUARANTY (-2.22%), UBA (-2.10%), FIDELITYBK (-0.48%) and ZENITHBANK (-0.26%).

Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 2.50%, representing a 0.40% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 2.00%, representing 0.40% depreciation against yesterday’s position.
