Activities in the Nigeria stock market sustained uptrend by posting 0.40% at the end of today’s trading session. The gain was driven by WEMABANK, DANGCEM and 21 others. Market breadth closed at positive, recording 23 gainers and 15 losers.

The All Share Index (ASI) went up by 122.53 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.40%, closing at 30,583.21 points. Similarly, Market Capitalization increased by N45.70 billion representing a growth of 0.40%, closing at N11.40 trillion.
NEIMETH emerged the top gainer while ETRANZACT emerged the top loser.
The uptrend was impacted by gains recorded in medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; WEMABANK (+5.17%), TRANSCORP (+2.38%), MOBIL (+2.17%), DANGCEM (+1.06%), NB (+0.96%), DANGFLOUR (+0.78%), UBA (+0.67%) and WAPCO (+0.40%).

The Naira at the inter-bank rate closed at N306.85 representing a 0.16% depreciation against yesterday’s closing price.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N363.15, traded high at N365.50 and eventually closed at N362.70, representing a 0.10% appreciation against Wednesday’s closing price. A total of $333.37 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 13.50%, representing a 6.25% depreciation against Wednesday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate also closed at 13.00% representing a 5.17% depreciation against Wednesday’s closing position.
