Stock market halts loosing streak, gains 0.48%
The Nigeria stock market on Friday closed positive to halt prior three days loosing streak. The gain was impacted by positive sentiment on Banking, Industrial goods, and Insurance sectors. Consequently, the market breadth closed positive, recording 19 gainers and 12 losers.

In summary, the All Share Index (ASI) increased by 126.25 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.48% to close at 26,314.49 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization gained N61.46 billion representing an increase of 0.48%, to close at N12.81 trillion.
CUSTODIAN emerged the top gainer, while UNILEVER emerged as top loser.

Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 5.57%, representing a 0.43% appreciation against yesterday’s position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 4.43%, representing a 0.29% appreciation against yesterday’s position.

The NASD OTC market closed lower after today’s transaction, as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) declined by 0.19% to close at 701.76 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization lost N970 million to close at N504.17 billion as against yesterday’s position. However, the aggregate volume and value grew by 31,322.80%, and 1,694.41% respectively, as investors traded a total of 25.08 million units of shares valued at N25.75 million in 7 deals.
