Stock market extends losing streak to four consecutive sessions
Activities on the Nigerian equity market on Thursday closed lower to extend downtrend to four consecutive trading sessions following price depreciation on Consumer goods and Oil & Gas sectors. Consequently, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 10 gainers against 21 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 79.97 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.27% to close at 29,030.93 points, Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N41.19 billion, representing a decline of 0.27% to close at N14.95 trillion.
CORNERST emerged as the top gainer while UACN emerged as top loser.
The downtrend was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; UACN (-10.00%), TRANSCORP (-8.82), WAPCO (-7.08%), OANDO (-3.74%), UBA (-1.83%), ACCESS (-1.53%) HONYFLOUR (-0.93%).

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N363.05, traded high at N364.00 and eventually closed at N364.60, representing a 0.30% depreciation as against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $108.87 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 5.50%, representing 8.67% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 4.17%, representing 9.33% depreciation against yesterday’s position.

The NASD OTC market on Thursday remained unchanged as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) to close at 698.56. Consequently, Market Capitalization gained N420 million to close at N502.29 billion. Similarly, the aggregate volume and value increased by 26.72% and 12.91% respectively, as investors traded a total of 750,265 volume of shares valued at N13.52 million in 6 deals.
