Sell-off persist as market cap fall below N13 trillion
The negative sentiment of investors on the Nigeria bourse persisted on Wednesday, as 15 stocks dragged the market capitalization below N13 trillion. The decline was impacted by further depreciation of blue chip stocks. Consequently, the market breadth closed negatively with 12 gainers as against 15 losers.

In summary, the All Share Index (ASI) shed 210.98 absolute points, representing a slump of 0.79% to close at 26,598.94 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization lost N102.71 billion representing a decline of 0.79%, to close at N12.95 trillion.
LEARNAFRCA emerged the top gainer while PZ emerged as top loser.
The downtrend was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; PRESCO (4.83%), NB (-4.00%), DANGCEM (-3.91%), NESTLE (-1.22%), FBNH (-0.94%), DANGFLOUR (-0.67%) and ZENITHBANK (-0.28%).

The Naira remained unchanged to close at N307.00/$1, as against yesterday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N362.30, traded high at N363.70 and eventually closed at N362.50 representing 0.01% depreciation as against yesterday’s position. A total of $465.36 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 5.07%, representing a 1.29% appreciation against yesterday’s position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 4.43%, representing a 1.36% appreciation against yesterday’s position.

NASD OTC MARKET
The NASD OTC market returned back to negative sentiment on Wednesday, as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) declined 0.08% to close at 697.71 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization lost N400 million to close at N501.26 billion as against yesterday’s position. However, the aggregate volume and value grew by 7,411.33% and 1,615.92% respectively, as investors traded a total of 394,345 units of shares valued at N11.11 million in 15 deals.
