Price depreciation in Dangcem and 11 others cause Investors to lose N21 billion
Activities on the Nigeria bourse sustained free fall as investors lost N21 billion from previous day’s investment. The decline was driven by price depreciation on Dangcem and 11 other stocks. However, market breadth closed positively, recording 18 gainers as against 12 losers.
NSE Trading Floor
The All Share Index (ASI) decreased by 42.26 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.16% to close at 27,047.58 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization lost N20.56 billion, representing a decline of 0.16% to close at N13.16 trillion.
UAC-PROP emerged the top gainer while THOMASWY emerged as top loser.
The downtrend was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; CCNN (-6.61%), UACN (-6.06%), NESTLE (-4.93%), FO (-3.45%), and DANGCEM (-0.45%).

The Naira exchange rate closed at N306.85/$1, representing 0.02% appreciation as against yesterday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N361.70, traded high at N366.44 and eventually closed at N361.80 representing a 0.10% appreciation against yesterday’s position. A total of $196.51 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 12.93%, representing a 4.61% appreciation against yesterday’s position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 12.14%, representing a 5.00% appreciation against yesterday’s position.

NASD OTC MARKET
The NASD market extends positive sentiment with marginal gain, as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) grew by 0.01% to close at 719.35 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization gained N50 million to close at N519.81 billion as against yesterday’s position. The aggregate volume and value also grew by 731.51% and 132.39% respectively as investors traded a total of 485,720 units of shares valued at N6.56 million in 3 deals.
