Activities in the Nigeria equity market extended its loosing streak as the index shed 0.53%.  The market breadth closed negative, recording 14 gainers and 30 losers.

NSE Trading Floor

The All Share Index (ASI) declined by 165.53 absolute points, representing a decrease of 0.53%, to close at 31,178.71 points. Similarly, Market Capitalization decrease by N61.72 billion representing a decline of 0.53%, to close at N11.63 trillion.

REDSTAREX emerged the top gainer while NEIMETH & ACADEMY emerged  as the top losers.

The decline was impacted by losses recorded in medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; FCMB (-6.54%), HONYFLOUR (-5.38%), ACCESS (-4.72%), DANGFLOUR (-3.23%), WEMABANK (-2.86%), NB (-2.38%), ZENITHBANK (-2.13%), DANGSUGAR (-1.40%), GUARANTY (-1.31%), OANDO (-0.98%), FBNH (-0.66%)  and FLOURMILL(-0.51%).

FOREIGN EXCHANGE

The Naira at the inter-bank rate  remain unchanged to closed at N306.75 against yesterday’s closing price.

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N362.75, traded high at N363.75 and eventually closed at N363.34, representing a 0.16% depreciation against yesterday’s closing price. A total of $93.84 million was transacted through the I&E window today.

MONEY MARKET

Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 10.83%, representing a 6.48% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate also closed at 10.17% representing a 5.90%  depreciation against yesterday’s closing position.
