NSE market indicator further recede by 0.15%
Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) today closed on a negative note to extend similar trend to three consecutive sessions. The overall market performance indicator, NSE-ASI, declined by 0.15% amid selloff on Dangcem, MTNN, Zenithbank, Seplat, and 14 others. Nonetheless, market breadth closed positive, with 21 gainers as against 19 losers.
NSE Trading Floor
The All Share Index (ASI) decreased by 46.08 absolute points, representing a decline of 0.15% to close at 29,772.72 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization lost N20.30 billion, representing a dip of 0.15% to close at N13.12 trillion.
FO emerged the top gainer while PRESCO emerged as top loser.
The downtrend was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; SEPLAT (-3.19%), UNILEVER (-3.13%), FCMB (-2.37%), STANBIC (-1.41%), NESTLE (-1.41%), MTNN (-0.75%), ZENITHBANK (-0.25%), and DANGCEM (-0.05%)

The Naira exchange rate remain unchanged after today’s transaction to closed at N306.95/$1 as against yesterday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N360.10, traded high at N361.50 and eventually closed at N360.53 representing 0.01% depreciation as against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $81.74 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 7.50%, representing 0.21% depreciation as against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 6.86%, representing a 0.36% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position.

NASD OTC MARKET
The NASD market extended negative sentiment to three consecutive trading sessions after today’s transactions, as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) declined 2.64% to close at 719.24 points against yesterday’s index. Also, the Market Capitalization lost N14.04 billion, to close at N516.73 billion. However, Market activities measured by aggregate volume traded grew by 92.91% while value traded declined by 33.75 %. Investors traded a total of 552,461 units of shares valued at N31.29 million in 11 deals.
