NSE Market Capitalization recede by 0.16% as attention turned to rescheduled election
The equity market today closed lower, extending yesterday’s loss by 0.16%. This was driven by decline in Cadbury and 16 other stocks. Market breadth closed positive, recording 20 gainers and 17 losers.

The All Share Index (ASI) shed 53.13 absolute points, representing a decrease of 0.16%, to close at 32,568.66 points. Similarly, Market Capitalization declined by N19.82 billion representing a decline of 0.16%, to close at N12.13 trillion.
INITSPLC emerged the top gainer while CADBURY emerged as the top loser.
The downtrend was impacted by losses recorded in medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; OKOMUOIL (-5.82%), WEMABANK (-5.62%), TRANSCORP (-3.33%), NB (-3.03%), FLOURMILL (-2.42%), DANGSUGAR (-0.99%), and DANGCEM (-0.31%),

The Naira at the inter-bank rate remain unchanged to closed at N306.80 against yesterday’s closing price.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N361.71, traded high at N363.25 and eventually closed at N361.49, to remain unchanged against yesterday’s closing price. A total of $292.34 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 20.25%, representing a 5.67% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate also closed at 18.83%, representing a 5.17% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position.
