Transactions on the Nigerian stock market today (Thursday) closed on a negative note, contracting marginally by 0.01%, halting the previous positive momentum of two consecutive trading days, following sell pressure on some bellwether stocks like ACCESS, DANGSUGAR, FBNH and 12 other. Consequently, the market breadth closed on a negatively, recording 15 losers as against 10 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 1.51 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.01% to close at 24,276.56 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N0.79 billion, representing a contraction of 0.01% to close at N12.66 trillion.
LAWUNION emerged as the top gainer while CONOIL emerged as the top loser.
The dowturn was impacted by loses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; FBNH (-0.94%) DANGSUGAR (0.86%), ACCESS (-0.78%) and FIDELITYBK (-0.56%).

Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 16.10%, representing a 4.90% depreciation against the previous day’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 15.20%, representing a 4.80% depreciation against the previous day’s position.

The NASD OTC market today (Thursday) closed on a positive note, as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 709.22, representing a 0.14% appreciation against the previous day’s closing position. Similarly, Market Capitalization shed N750 million closed at N520.97 billion, representing a 0.14% appreciation against the previous day’s closing position. However, the aggregate volume and value contracted by 77.39% and 81.20% aggregated respectively, as investors traded a total of 71.488 shares, worth N1.39 million in 7 deal.
