The Nigeria equity market on Thursday closed on a negative note, sustaining the previous day’s positive sentiment with a dip of 0.13%, buoyed by profit-taking on bellwether stocks. Consequently, the market breadth closed on a negative note, recording 17 losers as against 16 gains.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 32.37 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.13% to close at 25,182.67 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N16.89 million, representing a dip of 0.13% to close at N13.14 trillion.
NEIMETH emerged as the top gainer while CAVERTON emerged as the top loser.
The downturn was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; HONYFLOUR (-5.15%), UACN (-4.00%), WAPCO (-2.16%), NB(-1.18%), ETI (-0.91%), GUARANTY (-0.83%) and UBA (-0.74%).

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N387.50, traded high at N390.00 and eventually closed at N385.75, representing 0.31% appreciation as against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $12.45 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 9.83%, representing a 4.27% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 8.83%, representing a 4.17% depreciation against yesterday’s position.
