Nigerian equity market sustains uptrend to seventh consecutive trading day, gains 0.15%
Transactions on the Nigerian bourse today (Wednesday) closed on a positive note as the All-Share-Index appreciated by 0.15% to sustain the previous positive momentum to seven consecutive trading days in a row. The uptrend was supported by value appreciation on some bellwether stocks like GUARANTY, FBNH, GUINNESS, and 21 others. Consequently, the market breadth closed on a positive note, recording 24 gainers as against 8 losers.
NSE Trading Floor
In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 38.37 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.15% to close at 25,330.10 points. While the overall Market Capitalization size gained N20.02 billion, representing an increase of 0.15% to close at N13.21 trillion.
The market upturn was paired with mixed trading activity, as total volumes dipped by 28.09% while the values traded on the local bourse gained 15.98%, to a total of 180.73 million shares valued at N1.36 billion, in 3,411 deals.
FTNCOCOA emerged as the top gainer while CORNERST emerged as the top loser.
The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; VITAFOAM (+5.63%), PZ (+5.00%), GUINNESS (+1.31%), FBNH (+1.00%), FLOURMILL (+0.53%), GUARANTY (+0.20%).
