Nigerian equity market sustains positive momentum, gains 0.37%
Transactions on the Nigerian equity market today (Friday) ended the trading week on a positive note as the All-Share-Index appreciated by 0.37% to sustain previous positive sentiment to six consecutive trading day. The uptrend was supported by value appreciation on some bellwether stocks like ACCESS, ZENITHBANK, GUARANTY and 16 others. Consequently, the market breadth closed on a positive note, recording 23 gainers as against 12 losers.
NSE Trading Floor
In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 94.62 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.37% to close at 25,605.64 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N49.36 billion, representing an increase of 0.37% to close at N13.36 trillion.
LAWUNION emerged as the top gainer while INITSPLC emerged as the top loser.
The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; SEPLAT (+3.90%), GUARANTY (+3.21%), GUINNESS (+3.21%), ZENITHBANK (+1.16%), ACCESS (+0.78%) and UCAP (+0.32%).
