The Nigerian bourse today (Tuesday) closed marginally lower, shedding 0.01%, extending the bearish sentiment to the fourth consecutive trading day. The downtrend was driven by persistent sell pressure on big-name stocks like ACCESS, ETI, UBA and 20 others. Consequently, the market breadth closed on a negative note, recording 23 losers as against 9 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 2.57 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.01% to close at 24,751.32 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N2.02 million, representing a decrease of 0.02% to close at N12.91 trillion.
UAC-PROP emerged as the top gainers while UNITYBNK emerged as the top loser.
The downturn was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; DANGSUGAR (-9.85%), ETI (-5.10%), NB (-2.70%), WAPCO (-2.22%), UBN (-1.56%), ACCESS (-1.48%) and UBA (-0.79%).
