MTNN, NESTLE, ACCESS, others drag NSE-ASI lower, post 1.05% loss
Activities on the Nigerian bourse on Monday sustained previous negative sentiment amid profit taking on bellwether stocks like MTNN, NESTLE, ACCESS among others. Nonetheless, the market breadth closed at par, recording 17 gainers against 17 losers.
NSE Trading Floor
In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 294.90 absolute points, representing a dip of 1.05% to close at 27,772.19 points, However, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N153.59 billion, representing a decline of 1.05% to close at N14.46 trillion.
SOVRENINS emerged as the top gainer while NESTLE emerged as top loser.
The downtrend was impacted by loses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; NESTLE (-10.00%), OANDO (-4.17%), FBNH (-2.50%), MTNN (-1.71%), WAPCO (-1.63%), ACCESS (-1.53%), HONYFLOUR (-0.91%), GUARANTY (-0.68%), and UBA (-0.65%).

The Naira at the official window on Monday closed at 306.90/$1, representing a 0.02% appreciation against yesterday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N364.35, traded high at N365.50and eventually closed at N364.56, representing a 0.05% depreciation as against Friday’s closing position. A total of $443.63 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
MONEY MARKET
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 16.00%, representing a 9.67% appreciation against Friday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 15.33%, representing 9.83% appreciation against Friday’s position.
