Transaction on the Nigerian Bourse closed for today (Wednesday) on a bullish note. The positive performance was a result of investors’ interest in recently depreciated stocks like MTNN, GTCO, FBNH,  and 11 others as NGX-ASI increased by 0.12%. However, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 18 losers as against 14 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) grew by 47.84 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.12%, to close at 38,968.34 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value gained N25 billion, representing a rise of 0.12% to close at N20.30 trillion.

UPDC emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a price appreciation of 9.64% while TRANSCOHOT emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) with a price depreciation of 10.00%.

Today’s market positive performance was driven by price depreciation in large and medium capitalized stocks which are; UPDC (9.64%), NNFM (+9.59%), OANDO (+6.21%), LEARNAFRCA (+5.88%), HONYFLOUR (+3.83%), COURTVILLE (+3.45%), TRANSCORP (-2.20%), NEM (+2.12%), NAHCO (+1.69%), MTNN (+1.45%), FBNH (+1.33%),  GTCO (+0.74%), MAYBAKER (+0.67%)  and UCAP (+0.61%),
