MTNN and 17 others sustains market positive momentum
The Nigerian equities market today (Thursday), closed positively, extending the previous positive momentum to six consecutive trading day, with a marginal gain of 0.07%, following value appreciation on MTNN, DANGCEM and 16 others. However, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 20 losers as against 18 gainers.
NSE Trading Floor
In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 14.90 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.07% to close at 22,554.84 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N7.76 billion, representing an increase of 0.07% to close at N11.75 trillion.
NESTLE emerged as the top gainer while ACCESS & STERLNBANK emerged as the top losers.
The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; NESTLE (+10.00%), NB (+9.89%), MTNN (+3.57%), DANGCEM (+2.18%), HONYFLOUR (+2.13%) and GLAXOSMITH (+0.95%).

The Naira at the official window on Wednesday closed unchanged at 361.00/$1, against previous day’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N385.72, traded high at N390.00 and eventually closed at N386.00, representing a 0.10% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $14.22 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
MONEY MARKET
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 2.67%, representing a 0.25% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 2.00%, unchanged against yesterday’s position.
