MTN and 14 Others Sustain Market Uptrend
The Nigerian Bourse today sustained yesterdays uptrend, gaining 1.53%. The positive sentiment was driven by price appreciation in MTN and 14 other stocks. Market breadth closed positive, recording 15 gainers and 14 losers.
NSE Trading Floor
The All Share Index (ASI) gained 433.74 absolute points, representing a growth of 1.53% to close at 28,871.93 points. Similarly, Market Capitalization grew by N191.05 billion, representing an increased of 1.53% to close at N12.72 trillion.
MTNN emerged the top gainer while FO emerged as top loser.
The uptrend was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; MTNN (+10.00%), TRANSCORP (+8.77%), OANDO (+6.67%), UBN (+2.19%), DANGSUGAR (+0.37%), DANGFLOUR (+0.31%), and ZENITHBANK (+0.26%).

The Naira exchange rate at the official window remain unchanged to close at N306.95/$1, against yesterday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N360.18, traded high at N361.10 and eventually closed at N360.50 representing a 0.04% depreciation as against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $152.09 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 5.29%, representing a 1.29% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 4.57%, representing a 1.29% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position.

NASD OTC MARKET
The NASD market closed negatively as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) declined by 0.72% to close at 760.36 points against yesterday’s index. Similarly, Market Capitalization declined by N3.99 billion to close at N546.27 billion. Market activities measured by aggregate volume and value grew by 500.61% and 4.35% respectively. Investors traded a total of 147,750 units of shares valued at N7.57 million in 13 deals.
