Local bourse sustains uptrend, post N343.96 billion gain.
The Nigerian equities market today (Wednesday), closed on a positive note, extending the previous positive sentiment to five consecutive trading day, with a gain of N343.96 billion (3.02%), following value appreciation on DANGCEM, ACCESS, ZENITHBANK and 25 others. Consequently, the market breadth closed positively, recording 28 gainers as against 11 losers.
NSE Trading Floor
In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 659.99 absolute points, representing a growth of 3.02% to close at 22,539.94 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N343.96 billion, representing an increase of 3.02% to close at N11.75 trillion.
DANGCEM & 2 others emerged as the top gainer while ARBICO emerged as the top loser.
The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; DANGCEM (+10.00%), NB (+9.84%), ZENITHBANK (+9.66%), DANGSUGAR (+8.55%), GUARANTY (+7.09%), ACCESS (+6.87%), WAPCO (+3.63%), UBA (+3.17%), ETI (+3.09%), and FBNH (+1.04%).

The Naira at the official window on Wednesday closed unchanged at 361.00/$1, against previous day’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N388.38, traded high at N401.57 and eventually closed at N385.63, representing a 0.26% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $30.42 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
MONEY MARKET
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 2.42%, representing a 0.42% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 2.00%, representing 0.33% depreciation against yesterday’s position.
