Local bourse sustains previous positive sentiment, gains 0.25%
The Nigerian equity market today (Tuesday) closed on a positive note as the All-Share-Index appreciated by 0.25% to sustain the previous positive momentum to six consecutive trading days in a row. The uptrend was supported by value appreciation on some bellwether stocks like ZENITHBANK, UBA, BUACEMENT, and 12 others. However, the market breadth closed on a negative note, recording 20 losers as against 15 gainers.
NSE Trading Floor
In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 62.61 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.25% to close at 25,291.73 points. While the overall Market Capitalization size gained N32.67 billion, representing an increase of 0.25% to close at N13.19 trillion.
The market upturn was paired with mixed trading activity, as total volumes gained 0.06% while the values traded on the local bourse dipped by 50.50%, to a total of 251.34 million shares valued at N1.17 billion, in 3,713 deals.
NEM emerged as the top gainer while BETAGLAS emerged as the top loser.
The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; JAPAULOIL (+4.76%), BUACEMENT (+2.83%), WAPCO (+1.74%), FIDELITYBK (+1.13%), FLOURMILL (+1.08%), UBA (+0.77%) and ZENITHBANK (+0.30%).

Overnight(O/N) rate today (Tuesday) closed at 2.50%, representing a 0.50% depreciation against the previous day’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 2.00%, unchanged against the previous day’s position.
