Local bourse sustains previous positive momentum, gains 0.05%
Transactions on the Nigerian bourse today (Monday) began the trading week on a positive note as the All-Share-Index appreciated by 0.05%, to sustain the previous positive sentiment to three consecutive trading days. The uptrend was supported by value appreciation on some bellwether stocks like DANGCEM, WAPCO, ZENITHBANK, and 14 others. Consequently, the market breadth closed on a positive note, recording 17 gainers as against 16 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 13.64 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.05% to close at 25,605.59 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N7.11 billion, representing an increase of 0.05% to close at N13.36 trillion.
NEIMETH emerged as the top gainer while INTBREW emerged as the top loser.
The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; WAPCO (+1.95%), FIDELITYBK (+1.70%) HONYFLOUR (+1.06%), FBNH (+0.99%), DANGCEM (+0.75%), GUARANTY (+0.40%) and ZENITHBANK (+0.29%).

The NASD OTC market today (Monday) closed on a positive note as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 718.87, representing a 0.89% appreciation against the previous day’s closing position. Similarly, Market Capitalization gained N4.65 billion closed at N528.06 billion, representing a 0.89% appreciation against the previous day’s closing position. However, the aggregate volume and value decreased by 74.12% and 21.75% respectively, as investors traded a total of 27,450 shares, worth N1.36 million in 5 deals.
