Local bourse sustains previous negative sentiment, sheds 0.07%
The Nigeria equity market today (Monday) began the trading week lower with a dip of 0.07%, extending the previous negative sentiment to two consecutive trading days. The downturn was driven by persistent profit-taking on some bellwether stocks like ACCESS, FBNH, ZENITHBANK and 10 other. Consequently, the market breadth closed on a negative note, recording 13 losers as against 12 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 18.08 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.07% to close at 24,269.58 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N9.43 billion, representing a contraction of 0.07% to close at N12.66 trillion
GLAXOSMITH emerged as the top gainer while NEIMETH emerged as the top loser.
The downturn was impacted by loses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; ETI (-2.30%), ACCESS (-1.61%), FBNH (-1.00%), ZENITHBANK (-0.63%) and OANDO (-0.43%).
