Local bourse sustains positive performance on bargain hunting
Transactions on the Nigeria equities market today (Thursday), sustained its positive performance of yesterday, as the NSE-ASI rose by 1.47%, extending the gaining streak to three consecutive trading day, following bargain hunting on big-name stocks like in ACCESS, ZENITHBANK, UBA and 21 others. Consequently, the market breadth closed positively, recording 24 gainers as against 12 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 310.77 absolute points, representing a growth of 1.47% to close at 21,384.03 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N161.96 billion, representing an increase of 1.47% to close at N11.14 trillion.
DANGSUGAR emerged as the top gainer while OMATEK emerged as the top loser.
The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; DANGSUGAR (+9.74%), UBA (+9.73%), CADBURY (+9.52%), NESTLE (+8.52%), WAPCO (+7.20%), ETI (+5.68%), ZENITHBANK (+5.66%), GUARANTY (+3.01%), ACCESS (+2.31%), and SEPLAT (+1.00%).

The Naira at the official window on Thursday closed unchanged at 361.00/$1, against yesterday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N387.04, traded high at N401.45 and eventually closed at N384.83, unchanged against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $76.18 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 16.83%, representing a 13.67% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 15.00%, representing 12.17% appreciation against yesterday’s position.

NASD OTC MARKET
The NASD OTC market on Thursday closed higher as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 698.22, representing a 0.49% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position. Similarly, Market Capitalization closed higher at N512.89 billion, representing a 0.49% appreciation against yesterday’s position. However, the aggregate volume and value decreased by 97.06% and 95.99%, as investors traded a total of 10,200 volume of shares, valued at N154,000 in 2 deals.
