Local bourse sustains negative sentiment
Transaction activities in the Nigeria equity market sustained last Fridayz negative sentiment by shedding 0.39%, following sell down on some large capitalised stocks. However, the market breadth closed positively, recording 14 gainers as against 12 losers.
NSE Trading Floor
In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) sheds 94.57 absolute points, representing a decline of 0.39% to close at 23,950.83 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size lost N49.28 billion, representing an increase of 0.39% to close at N12.48 trillion.
UNILEVER emerged as the top gainer while CAP emerged as the top loser.
The downtrend was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; GUARANTY (-4.33%), TRANSCORP (-2.82%), ZENITHBANK (-2.27%), UCAP (-2.00%), and FIDELITYBK (-1.11%).

The Naira at the official window on Thursday closed unchanged at 361.00/$1, against last Friday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N387.88, traded high at N389.75 and eventually closed at N386.94, representing a 0.08% appreciation against last Friday’s closing position. A total of $9.98 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
MONEY MARKET
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 9.63%, representing a 1.29% appreciation against last Friday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 8.50%, representing a 1.08% appreciation against last Friday’s position.

Similarly, Market Capitalization lost N4.54 billion closed at N509.92 billion. However, both the aggregate volume and value grew by 285.47% and 499.77% respectively, as investors traded a total of 17,250 shares, worth N2.90 million in 8 deal.
