Local Bourse Records First Loss in Nine Successive Sessions as Market Heads for Christmas Break Bearish
Trading activities on the domestic stock market today (Thursday) closed for the first time in nine sessions in the negative region, as the market performance indices, the ASI, and the market capitalization value dipped by 0.01% heading into Christmas Day public holiday. However, market breadth closed positively, recording 23 gainers as against 08 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) lost 3.73 absolute points, representing a decline of 0.01% to close at 38,800.01 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value also depreciated by N1.95 billion, representing a contraction of 1.95% to close at N20.279 trillion.
FTNCOCOA emerged top of the gainers’ chart for today with a price appreciation of +9.88%, while CHAMPION emerged top of the losers’ chart with a price depreciation of -7.87%.
Today’s downtrend was also driven by price depreciation in medium and large capitalized stocks amongst which are; WAPCO (-4.76%), AIICO (-3.08%), CUTIX (-0.92%), GUARANTY (-0.61%), and UBA (-0.59)
