Local Bourse Rebounds as Investors’ Wealth Appreciate by N101.79 Billion

Trading activities on the Nigerian equity market closed today (Tuesday) on a positive note, to reverse the previous day’s trading loss. The bullish performance was due to investors’ buy interest in industrial goods, consumer goods, and oil & gas sector stocks. Consequently, the market indicators (NGX-ASI and market capitalization) surged by 0.50%. However, the market breadth closed negatively recording 17 losers against 15 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 192.72 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.50% to close at 38,881.70 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value gained N101.79billion, representing an increase of 0.50% to close at N20.27 trillion.

OKOMU OIL emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a maximum price appreciation of +9.65%, while CWG emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) with a maximum price depreciation of -9.42%.

Today’s market upurn was driven by price appreciation in large and medium capitalized stocks amongst which are; OKOMUOIL(+10.00%), LEARNAFRICA(+9.00%), CHAMPION(+4.71%), UNILEVER(+3.86%), CORNERSTONE(+3.57%), DANGSUGAR(+2.94%), ETERNA(+2.56%), FLOURMILL(+2.46%), DANGCEM(+2.27%), VITAFOAM(+2.22%), PZ(+1.82%), JAIZBANK(+1.72%), LIVESTOCK(+1.65%), GUARANTY(+0.35%), and OANDO(+0.34%).
