Local Bourse Rallies by 0.08%, as Investors Gain N30 Billion

The Nigerian domestic market closed trading activities for today (Friday) in the green, as the local bourse bounced back from the previous day’s trading loss. This positive performance was steered by investors’ buy-interests in Insurance, oil&gas, and consumer goods sectors stocks, as NGX-ASI advanced by 0.08%. Furthermore, the market breadth closed positively, recording 9 losers as against 18 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) rise with 32.56 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.08%, to close at 38,943.87 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value gains N17 billion, representing a rise of 0.08% to close at N20.29 trillion.

CHIPLC emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a price appreciation of 8.33% while IKEJAHOTEL emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) with a price depreciation of -6.56%.

Today’s market positive performance was driven by price appreciation in large and medium capitalized stocks which are; CHIPLC (8.83%), REGALINS (7.14%), PRESTIGE (6.82%),UCAP(6.59%), GTCO (3.51%), HONYFLOUR(2.30%), OANDO (1.76%), NAHCO (1.33%), UPDC(1.22%), PZ (0.86%), FIDELITY(0.83%), AFRIPRUD (0.81%),ZENITHBANK  (0.63%)  and STANBIC (0.26%),

Nigeria’s foreign reserve appreciated by $94.65 million to $35.37 billion on (16/09/2021) from $35.27 billion on (15/09/2021).

The Brent crude appreciated by $1.18 to $74.78 on (15/09/2021) from $73.60 on (14/09/2021), representing an increase of 1.60%,  while the Bonny Light also appreciated by $2.22 to $74.22 on (15/09/2021) from  $72.00 on (14/09/2021).
