Local Bourse Rallies by 0.06%, as Market Capitalisation Advance by N11.18 Billion

The Nigerian domestic market closed trading activities for today (Thursday)  on a positive note, halting the three consecutive trading losses. The positive performance was driven by investors’ bargain-hunting in Insurance, Oil&gas, and consumer goods stocks. Consequently, the NGX-ASI and the market capitalization grew by 0.06%. Furthermore, the market breadth closed positively, recording 16 gainers as against 12 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) grew by 21.44 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.06%, to close at 38,874.13 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value gained N11.18billion, representing a rise of 0.06% to close at N20.25 trillion.

NAHCO emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a price appreciation of 10.00% while SOVERNINS emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) with a price depreciation of -4.97% 

Today’s market positive performance was driven by price appreciation in large and medium capitalized stocks which are; NAHCO (10.00%), PHARMDEKO (9.55%), VERITASKAP(9.52%), CORNEST (9.43%), CHAMS (4.76%), PZ (4.55%), OANDO(3.66%), GTCO(1.29%), FLOURMILL (1.21%), UBA (0.66%), WAPCO (0.22%) and STANBIC (-0.13%),

Crude Oil 21092021The WTI crude appreciated by $0.35 to $70.49 on (21/09/2021) from $70.14 on (20/09/2021), representing an increase of 0.50%. Also, the Brent Crude appreciated by $0.50 to $73.57 on (21/09/2021) from $73.07 on (20/09/2021) while the Bonny Light depreciated by $0.47 to $72.55 on (21/09/2021) from  $73.02 on (20/09/2021) representing a decrease of 0.64%.
