The Nigerian equities market today (Monday), began the trading week on a negative note, halting the previous positive momentum of seven consecutive trading days, with a marginal loss of 0.01%. The dip was buoyed by value depreciation on bellwether stocks like ACCESS, ZENITHBANK and 14 others. Consequently, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 16 losers as against 14 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 1.18 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.01% to close at 22,920.41 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N0.61 billion, representing a dip of 0.01% to close at N11.95 trillion.
JBERGER & LINKASSURE emerged as the top gainers while GUINNESS emerged as the top loser.
The downturn was impacted by loses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; GUINNESS (-9.38%), PZ (-9.09%), ZENITHBANK (-5.67%), ACCESS (-4.48%), GUARANTY (-4.33%), WAPCO (-1.72%) and UCAP (-0.89%).
