Local Bourse Gained N42 billion to Push Market Cap Back to N15 trillion Since January
The Local Bourse today (Monday) began the new week on a positive note, extending the recent gaining streak to three successive sessions. Today’s gain which amounted to N42.28 billion was also enough to push the Market Capitalization value up to the N15 trillion threshold, the first time since January 28, 2020. Consequently, Market breadth closed positively, recording 27 gainers as against 15 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 80.90 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.28% to close at 28,777.96 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization value gained N42.28 billion, representing a growth of 0.28% to close at N15,041.77 trillion.
CUSTODIAN, emerged top of the gainers’ chart today, while MORISON emerged top of the losers’ chart.
The uptrend was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; CUSTODIAN (+10.00%), NPFMCRFBK (+9.70%), ETI (+7.69%), FLOURMILL (+5.22%), HONEYFLOUR (+4.40%), STERLNBANK (+3.57%), WEMABANK (+3.57%), and CADBURY (+1.33%).

NASD OTC MARKET
The NASD OTC market performance indicators today (Friday) closed for the week on a negative note, as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) shed -1.62% to close at 716.92 points compared to 728.74 points yesterday. Also, the Market Capitalization value lost N8.68 billion to close at N526.63 billion compared to N535.31 billion on Thursday.
However, the Volume and Value of trade today increased by 40.12% and 112.13% respectively, to settle at 219,000 points and N27.47 million compared to that of yesterday in 3 deals.
