Local Bourse Extends Gains by 0.13%, as Bullish Sentiment Persist

Transactions on Custom street closed today (Thursday) in a northward direction, to extend the gaining session to the second consecutive day. The positive sentiment was a result of investors’ buy-interests in Insurance, banking, and consumer goods sector stocks. Hence, the year-to-date (YTM) stood at -4.11%. Consequently, the market indicators (NGX-ASI and capitalization) surged by 0.13%. Furthermore, the market breadth closed positively recording 18 gainers against 8 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 50.41 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.13% to close at 38,615.11 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value gained N26.28 billion, representing an increase of 0.13% to close at N20.13 trillion.

CHAMPION emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a maximum price appreciation of +10.00, while CHIPLC emerged as a  top loser (by percentage points) with a maximum price depreciation of -8.96%.
