Investors’ wealth recedes by 0.91% as negative sentiment persist
Activities on the Nigerian equity market on Wednesday closed lower to extend downtrend to three consecutive trading sessions as investors’ wealth sheds N138 billion. As a result, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 10 gainers against 18 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 267.73 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.91% to close at 29,110.90 points, Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N137.91 billion, representing a decline of 0.91% to close at N14.99 trillion.
LASACO emerged as the top gainer while BOCGAS emerged as top loser.
The downtrend was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; UNILEVER (-5.06%), MTNN (-4.00%), GUARANTY (-2.90%), ETI (-2.61%), ACCESS (-2.00%), HONYFLOUR (-1.82%) and FBNH (-1.42%).

The Naira at the official window on Wednesday closed unchanged at 307.00/$1, against yesterday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N362.75, traded high at N364.85 and eventually closed at N363.51, representing a 0.05% depreciation as against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $588.22 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 14.17%, representing 4.92% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 13.50%, representing 5.08% appreciation against yesterday’s position.

NASD OTC MARKET
The NASD OTC market on Wednesday reversed previous day’s negative sentiment as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) increased by 0.98% to close at 698.56. Similarly, Market Capitalization gained N4.88 billion to close at N501.87 billion. Similarly, the aggregate volume and value increased by 71.14% and 65.34% respectively, as investors traded a total of 592,065 volume of shares valued at N11.97 million in 13 deals.
