Investors’ wealth dips by N74 billion, as equity market plunge further
Transaction on the Nigeria equity market plunged further as Investors’ wealth declined by N74 billion, following sell-down on major bellwether stocks. As a result, the market breadth closed positive, recording 10 gainers and 12 losers.

In summary, the All Share Index (ASI) decreased by 151.69 absolute points, representing a decline of 0.58% to close at 26,223.66 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization lost N73.84 billion representing a dip of 0.58%, to close at N12.77 trillion.
CORNERST emerged the top gainer, while PRESCO emerged as top loser.
The downturn was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; PRESCO (-9.90%), INTBREW (-9.69%), STANBIC (-3.08%), UBA (-2.33%), DANGCEM (-1.07%), FBNH (-0.91%) and MTNN (-0.81%).

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N362.38, traded high at N363.40 and eventually closed at N362.66, representing 0.07% appreciation against yesterday’s position. A total of $416.48 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 5.50%, representing a 1.36% appreciation against yesterday’s position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 4.50%, representing a 0.93% appreciation against yesterday’s position.

The aggregate volume and value declined by 91.82%, and 94.73% respectively, as investors traded a total of 68,430 units of shares valued at N881,040.60 in 3 deals.
