Investors Lose N5.79 Billion, as Local Bourse Dips Marginally By 0.03%

Transactions on the Local Bourse today (Wednesday) closed on a negative note to extend previous day sentiment, as NGX-ASI dipped marginally by 0.03%. The downturn was buoyed by investors’ mixed sentiment in medium and large-scale stocks, as we await the release of more Half Year results of listed companies. Consequently, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 24 losers as against 18 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) dropped by 11.12 absolute points, representing a decline of 0.03%, to close at 38,791.03 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value dipped by N5.79 billion, representing a decrease of 0.03% to close at N20.21 trillion.

CAPHOTEL emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a maximum price appreciation of +9.85%, while CHIPLC and TRIPPLEG emerged as a joint-top loser (by percentage points) with a maximum price depreciation of -10.00%.
