Transaction on the Nigerian equity market closed for today (Tuesday) in a northward direction to reverse the previous day’s trading loss. The upturn was majorly a result of investors’ increase buy-interest in all major sectors, save for the oil and gas sector, as  NGX-ASI rose by 0.45%. Furthermore, the market breadth closed  positively, recording 26 gainers and 13 losers

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) grew by 182.96 absolute points, representing a rise of 0.45%, to close at 40,896.96 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value increased by N95.46 billion, representing an increase of 0.45% to close at N21.31 trillion.

CHAMPION emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) with a price appreciation of +10.00%, while CHIPLC emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) for today, with a price depreciation  of -6.78%.

Today’s market positive performance was driven by price appreciation in large and medium capitalized stocks which are; CHAMPION (+10.00%), CORNERST (+9.80%), FBNH (+9.79%), SOVRENINS (+9.09%), ETI (+7.25%), NEIMETH  (+5.99%), WAPIC (+4.17%), UNITYBNK (+3.57%), LINKASSURE (+3.45%), BUACEMENT (+1.79%), ACCESS (+1.59%), WEMABANK (+1.33%), UBA (+1.26%), DANGSUGAR (+1.15%), STANBIC (+0.79%), FIDELITYBK (+0.77%) and GTCO (+0.71%).
