Investors Drawdown 0.46% of Market Cap as Local Bourse Closed Bearish for the Third Straight Session

Transaction activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange today (Friday) closed bearish, as profit-taking sentiment enters the third straight session. Consequently, market breadth closed negatively, recording 21 losers as against 11 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 130.91 absolute points, representing a decline of 0.46% to close at 28,415.31 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size lost N68.43 billion, representing a decline of 0.46% to close at N14.85 trillion.

ETERNA for the second straight session topped the gainers’ chart, while PZ tops the losers’ chart.

The downtrend was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; PZ (-10.00%), GUARANTY (-5.00%), UCAP (-4.58%), FIDELITY (-2.86%), FBNH (-1.59%), ACCESS (-1.27%), ZENITH (-0.50%), and DANGCEM (-0.33%).

NASD OTC MARKET

 The NASD OTC market performance indicators today (Friday) extend losing streak to fourth consecutive sessions, as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) shed 1.02% to close at 723.13 points as against 724.53 points in the prior section. The Market Capitalization value also lost N1.03 billion to close at N531.19 billion compared to the previous closing value of N532.22 billion.

However, while the Volume of total transaction declined by 42.82% from yesterday’s closing position to settle at  23,581 units, the Value of total transaction increased mildly by 0.48% to settle at N3.24 million in 8 deals.
