Industrial Sector Led Equity Market to Sustain Positive Momentum, as NGX-ASI Rallies by 0.11%

The Nigerian domestic market closed trading activities for today (Thursday) in the green, to stretch the previous bullish sentiment to three consecutive trading periods, as NGX-ASI grew by 0.11%. The positive performance was due to investors buying interest in some medium and large-scale stocks such as FLOURMILL, HONYFLOUR, and 6 others. However, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 24 losers as against 8 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) grew by 41.60 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.11%, to close at 39,490.06 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value gained  21.67 billion, representing an increase of 0.11% to close at N20.57 trillion.

HONYFLOUR emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a maximum price appreciation of +10.00%, while SFSREIT emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) with a maximum price depreciation of -9.99%.

Today’s market positive performance was driven by price appreciation in large and medium capitalized stocks which are; HONYFLOUR (+10.00%), WEMABANK (+3.95%), FLOURMILL (+3.10%), AIICO (+2.11%), GTCO (+1.07%), UNILEVER (+0.70%), DANGCEM (+0.67%),  and  ZENITHBANK (+0.41%).
