The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) today gained 0.14% and extended positive momentum to two consecutive trading sessions to close the trading week. The gain was impacted by Industrial goods and two other sectors. Market breadth closed positive recording 23 gainers as against 19 losers.
NSE Trading Floor
The All Share Index (ASI) gained 40.27 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.14% to close at 29,212.00 points. Similarly, Market Capitalization increased by N15.83 billion representing a growth of 0.14% to close at N10.98 trillion.
COURTVILLE emerged the top gainer while both GOLDINSURE & CHAMS emerged as top losers.
The uptrend was impacted by gains recorded in medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; CCNN (+8.56%), UACN (+2.94%), HONYFLOUR (+2.61%), TRANSCORP (+2.46%), WEMABANK (+1.37%), GUARANTY (+1.36%), SEPLAT (+0.85%), UBA (+0.75%), FBNH (+0.68%), and NB (+0.46%).

The Naira exchange rate at the official window remained unchanged at N306.95/$1 against yesterday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N360.55, traded high at N361.75 and eventually closed at N360.65, representing a 0.07% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $189.26 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 5.93%, representing a 1.36% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 5.26%, representing a 0.86% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position.

The NASD market closed positive after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) rose by 0.18% to close at 757.06 points. Market Capitalization also grew by N980 million to settle at N543.90 billion. Conversely, market activities measured by aggregate volume and value decreased by 99.99% and 98.77% respectively. Investors traded a total of 13,820 units of shares valued at N2.26 million in 5 deals.
