Financial Sector Led Local Bourse To End Trading Week With A Five-Star Performance

The Nigerian Local Bourse today (Friday) closed transactions on a positive note to extend the gaining streak to seven consecutive trading sessions. The positive sentiment was driven by investors’ bargain-hunting in the banking and insurance sectors. Consequently, the market indicators (NGX-ASI and market capitalization) surged by 0.10%. Similarly, the market breadth closed positively, recording 23 gainers as against 17 losers

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) grew by 39.21 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.10%, to close at 40,868.36 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value increased by N20.44 billion, representing a gain of 0.10% to close at N21.30 trillion.

UPL emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) with a price appreciation of +9.72%, while ACADEMY emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) for today, with a price depreciation of -7.69%.
