Financial and Industrial Sectors Halt Market Downtrend, as Market Capitalization Advances by N2.5 Billion

The Nigerian domestic market closed trading activities for today (Tuesday) in the green, to halt the six-days consecutive bearish trend. The market upturn was due to investors’ renewed buying interest in the Financial and Industrial sectors, as NGX-ASI increased marginally by 0.013%. However, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 21 losers as against 14 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) grew by 4.88 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.013%, to close at 38,920.50 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value gained N2.5 billion, representing a rise of 0.013% to close at N20.28 trillion.

UPDC emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a price appreciation of +9.93% while SOVRENINS emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) with a price depreciation of -7.41%.
