Equity Market Wraps up Q3’2021 with N328 Billion Gain

The Nigerian equity market closed trading activities for today (Thursday) on a bullish note ahead of the Independence holiday, to extend the positive sentiment to two consecutive trading days. The market positive performance for today can be attributed to investor’s increased buying interest in the Industrial sector, as NGX-ASI surges by 1.59%. Furthermore, the market breadth closed positively, recording 20 gainers as against 14 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 628.88 absolute points, representing an increase of 1.59%, to close at 40,221.17 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value grew by N327.65 billion, representing a gain of 1.59% to close at N20.96 trillion.

UPL emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) with a price appreciation of +9.82%, while CHAMS emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) for today, with a price depreciation of -8.70%.

Today’s market positive performance was driven by price appreciation in large and medium capitalized stocks which are; PHARMDEKO (+9.81%), MAYBAKER (+9.17%), REGALINS (+7.32%), DANGCEM (+7.28%), PRESCO (+4.22%), WEMABANK (+2.56%), OKOMUOIL (+2.55%), VITAFOAM (+2.40%), FTNCOCOA (+2.08%), UPDC (+1.59%), NB (+1.54%), FIDELITYBK (+1.23%), TRANSCORP (+1.08%), CUTIX (+1.02%), WAPCO (+0.66%), UCAP (+0.56%),  and  GTCO (+0.54%).
