Equity market halts nine trading days gain with 1.27% loss
The Nigeria equity on Friday halts nine trading sessions gain with a loss of 1.27%. The decline was impacted by losing in MTNN, Guaranty, Buacement and 14 others. As a result, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 15 gainers as against 17 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) sheds 308.85 absolute points, representing a decline of 1.27% to close at 24,045.40 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size lost N160.96 billion, representing an increase of 1.27% to close at N12.53 trillion.
FIDSON emerged as the top gainer while UAC-PROP emerged as the top loser.
The downturn was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; MTNN (-6.67%), OANDO (-3.64%), WEMABANK (-3.45%), GUARANTY (-2.44%), BUACEMENT (-1.24%), and UACN (0.73%).

The Naira at the official window on Thursday closed unchanged at 361.00/$1, against yesterday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N386.36, traded high at N390.89 and eventually closed at N387.28, representing a 0.23% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $102.28 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 8.33%, representing a 5.33% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 7.42%, representing a 5.42% appreciation against yesterday’s position.

NASD OTC MARKET
The NASD OTC market today extends the unchanged sentiment as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 700.35, as against yesterday’s closing position. Similarly, Market Capitalization closed at N514.46 billion. Both the aggregate volume and value also declined by 81.04% and 75.04% respectively, as investors traded a total of 4,475 shares, worth N483,300 million in 2 deal.
